Fresh, hot beignets, doused with as much powder sugar as you can manage, accompanied by milky, chicory-laced cafe au lait, makes for a classic New Orleans breakfast (or snack, any time of day). This place is recommended if you want smaller crowds and more locals than the famous locations in the French Quarter, but keeps the marble tabletop ambiance.
