Up in the Andes, in Peru, alpacas are a very common animal. Not only they are raised for the use of their wool, also for their meat. A grilled alpaca steak resembles a tender version of beef, perhaps lighter, but rather similar in taste. It is served the exact same way a beef steak would commonly be served: with rice, fried and vegetables or salad.
