For me, one of the joys of traveling around Europe is picnicking. Granted, you could do that just about anywhere, but the average European supermarket combines good quality with variety, in addition to serving as a cheap intro to local eats. Case in point: kippers, smoked reindeer and a Kex chocolate bar in Stockholm. I should have bought a rutabaga though.
