Sarmale

Submitted by cajunheart
Bucharest Christmas Market

Sarmale was the first Romanian dish that I tried and fell in love with. Pickled cabbage with pork and/or beef baked in a tomatoey broth, the sarmale I ate was served as a cabbage roll stuffed with meat and rice. This pot, however, was a more deconstructed version.
