This quintessential German street food dates back to post-second world war reconstruction days. Stands and food carts selling this favorite "Imbiss" abound. The filling snack is pretty straightforward: pork "wurst" (sausage) is sliced and doused with tomato paste (sometimes ketchup) and a generous shake of curry powder. Not bad for about €1.50.
