Asados Pellibuey - Good local food at an excellent price Submitted by: crcbsjh
Leon, Nicaragua

If you are looking for a tasty and filling meal for just a couple of dollars, search out Asados Pellibuey. It's a few blocks north of Parque Central, on a corner. Looks like only a takeout place from the sidewalk, but ample seating inside. Nothing fancy. Choice of beef, chicken, pork, and pelibuey (sheep) with sides of slaw and gallo pinto. Two heaping plates of food + 2 sodas for a grand total of $6. Nica friends of ours had recommended this place, and we passed along the tip to others at our hotel who also ended up eating there. A hidden local secret.
