Fish 'n' brewis (pronounced "brews") is a traditional Newfoundland dinner of salt cod and hard tack with pork "scrunchions" (scraps). It was originally devised by sailors during long sea voyages, who relied on foods with a long shelf life. You can find it at Velma's Restaurant in St. John's, which specializes in traditional Newfoundland fare.
