Haleem is a protein-rich food item that is considered one of the most scrumptious dishes of the Indian subcontinent, made up of meat, lentils and wheat. It is cooked for hours with spices to ensure that all the ingredients have been infused perfectly into the tender meat and lentils. It came to the region during Mughal Period by Arab-origin foreign migrants.
