Giant West African snail

Giant West African snail are a local delicacy in Ghana (and Nigeria too). Still fresh and alive in this photo, they are indeed eaten without shell and of course cooked. They are usually boiled for several hours to soften and then cut up and served in pepper soup. Hot sauce is a must to go along!
